Finding My Voice Again: Returning to Writing

After a prolonged absence from writing due to the joys and challenges of starting a family and a company, I have finally accepted that I need to start writing again. Writing is thinking for me. It captures, clarifies and prunes my thoughts. A major impediment to that was the stress of entrepreneurship and fatherhood. Unfortunately I turned away from writing as an outlet for my stress. The last year has been tough, no doubt, but I’ve recently made two big changes in my life that have made it easier for me to get back to the things I love.

The first is I stopped drinking. I know this is in vogue now, and Huberman husbands the world round are swearing off booze. I can’t say I am immune to Huberman’s influence. But alcohol for me made my life too difficult to manage with a family of five and a startup. Since I stopped drinking I have been far more productive, happier, and less stressed.

The second is I started exercising. I signed up for the Berlin triathlon next summer and I started swimming recently. During exercise I’ll work through ideas for writing, and the clarity of mind post- workout is the perfect time to put thoughts to paper.

This blog will focus mainly on my journey as an entrepreneur, and the work we are doing at boomering. I’ll also write a lot about lessons learned and interesting developments in our market, as well as the broader tech market. I hope you enjoy.
